Local manipulation and topological phase transitions of polar skyrmions

Topological phases such as polar skyrmions have been a fertile playground for ferroelectric oxide superlattices, with exotic physical phenomena negative capacitance. Herein, using phase-field simulations, we demonstrate the local control of skyrmion phase electric potential applied through top electrode. Under relatively small potential, underneath electrode can be erased and recovered reversibly. A topologically protected transition from symmetric to asymmetric bubbles is observed at edge While topological labyrinthine domain requires high it switch back state potential. The +1 0 occurs before full destruction bubble state. It shown that shrinking bursting leads large reduction in dielectric permittivity, magnitude which depends on size
